I thought you had to either hand it over to them (a stern look tends to cause this apparently) or they need a warrant if they believe it can be used in evidence.
If you have a dashcam you can always swallow the SD card however do remember that this may not actually wipe it depending on your constitution.
Its also a good reason to buy a modern one with a micro-SD as it is a lot smaller and transits the system more easily apparently.....


The data from the Mercedes Me system is in the Cloud... not in the car.

That's where the Range Rover data was accessed from by JLR as the car had been burnt out in an attempt to destroy evidence, perhaps that's the modus operandi for them all.
