Thanks to all for comments and good wishes.
I am sure you will agree that this is an irritating fault on a new car - and while one can disregard and/or get the warning light re-set as advised there is still a nagging doubt that there might really be an underlying problem that would be better not ignored. Being told its a known problem that MMC are looking in to doesn't yet provide a solution. I am told by my dealer they have another car currently returned to MMC for investigation of a similar issue. Hopefully that will yield an answer! Thanks again for the replies.
