Interestingly, or perhaps quite underhandedly, the French police were sitting right on the border of France and Belgium on my most recent trip to Holland. Anyone crossing the border above the speed limit was being scanned by a hidden camera van and a retinue of French bike police were then pulling them over.
All it was missing was a giant sign saying "Welcome to France"
Akin to British police parked at the bottom of a steep hill with a speed camera trap, I found this to be rather unfair.
