Given the absolute crap on telly, yes it is hard. Decorating is more interesting.
Agreed, I'm not much of a telly watcher myself, but I must say the idea that one could be bored at home all day completely mystifies me. Quite apart from Gardening, DIY and housework, one has access to all the knowledge in the world through the internet. One could learn to make music, play an instrument, watch the world's great movies, read the world's great novels, write a novel oneself, do some scientific research, learn how to use CAD, make something in one's shed, build a shed if one doesn't have one, take up astronomy, while away hours arguing with strangers on the internet, or browse the world's obscure radio stations on Radio Garden.
And if all else fails, one can always talk to 'Er Indoors :-)
