I spent weeks of the drought summer of '76 in an archaeological dig at the top of Breedon Hill. We had lunch in a pub in the village every day It was an all you can eat ploughman's for 25p a head (I kid you not) with local cheeses, home made pickles, and big jugs of bitter shandy!
Happy memories!
Bredon Hill - just up the road from me. Was the pub the one with the tree in the middle of it?
Three school pals and I spent part of the summer on a canal trip. Probably spent more time aground and clogging the engine's cooling intake than anything else!
