Mine has the connector supplied by Ctek bolted to the Odyssey battery terminals. The battery is under the bonnet so easy access. I initially used the power socket connector in the glovebox ( daft location) but t the connection wasn’t that good as slight movement could cause it to disconnect.
I tend not to leave it off the Ctek for too long so it is left connected.
The only issue I have is the mode button not selecting consistently. I have opened the unit and sprayed contact cleaner but only a slight improvement. The button on top of the microswitch doesn’t seem to hit and activate the internal switch part. I popped it off and used a thin probe to push in and that works ok. I need to lengthen the button connector.
This is apparently a common-ish fault.
