The URL you probably copied from the top line of your browser. You clicked on a page with this link. Someone was promoting this item to you on a web page (facebook, the sun, whatever you happen to enjoy)
The first part of the link up to ? is the actual link you need. The ? and everything after it is how they carve up the profits. It was promoted by (give click money) who was recruited by (give click money) as part of a campaign they are running (click-baiting)
As others mention on the page is a a little icon with two chain links which will normally give you a clean link you can paste.
If not then copy and paste the whole line then read along until it looks like the money engineering kicks in (usually a ? or some other symbol) and delete it.
If you want to check it still works then paste the new short one into a web tab and it should take you to it, if not then it is probably too short.
