Thanks everyone for the advice have scrapped the idea of the "stalk" and will simply replace with SS version on the same bracket
Our 4/4 black mirror fell off with a little Glasgow Kiss while trying to find something under the dash.
On the Roadster, the factory set the bracket really low causing a big blackspot so I asked the dealer to move it up nearer the top of the screen which was much better. so the brackets must come off easily enough.
I've change now to the Lebrands small SS version which is much better with its convex lens.
