I have never jacked the car up to grease the kingpins and I would probably be considered a bit slack about greasing. I grease the kingpins before and after every long trip. In some cases that trip could be 5 or 6,000 km. If it is convenient I will get some grease in before heading for home but usually it would be a hassle to find a garage to do it. I don't carry the small portable grease gun because I worry about it leaking if gets hot.

The factory kingpins were replaced with hard chrome pins at about 13,500 km when I had the Suplex (now SSL) front suspension kit fitted. That was over 50,000 km ago.
