I agree Biglewey, the series takes a gentle poke at the hobby but I have yet to meet a fellow detectorist who takes exception to it. There are plenty "in jokes" to keep us laughing at ourselves.

Bonesie, I've found that as the years have progressed ring pulls have all but disappeared but they certainly used to be a nuisance. Having said that there is still plenty other junk out there to keep us getting unnecessarily excited.
