My favourite thing on youtube over the last copule of years has been a series by a guy called Leo Sampson Goolden and his mission to restore an old Albert Strange designed yacht Tally Ho, winner of the 1927 Fastnet race. Really good stuff, well filmed and fascinating (if you like boat building) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FhTu3aGM60

One of the young lads who went out to help him for a while, a guy called Finn, just popped up with a thing linked to Tally Ho with an item about a yacht called La Goleta (a John G Alden design, the only other boat to complete the Fastnet in 1927). It turns out that La Goleta belonged for a number of years to none other than.....Morgan Legend Chris Lawrence. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntiiuITACtY

Anyhooo, I thought it might interest some of you.

Excellent thread Giles. my father was a keen dinghy sailor and built three small boats one in the style of Albert Strange, who he admired. When he passed away I inherited very little, the small stash of stuff that came to me included a well thumbed book on Albert Strange which now sits in my study. After I had bought our Morgan, my brother told me that our father loved Morgans and always wanted one, I did not know this. Great music choices that accompany the videos.
Best wishes
