Whilst I do appreciate the finer sound of a better system, these days I am not sure my hearing is capable of distinguishing between our current mid-range system and some of the equipment described above. My ability to resolve higher frequencies is definitely a lot worse than it was 20 years ago.
On the plus side, it leaves me more money to spend on other things.
