I have a 7x12 open trailer, so one axle works, but I do not have the extra weight of enclosures. In securing the load. On the front I always tie of the front wheel frame, not the body frame. This allows the body to go up and down and not effect the straps. I come from the front out side to the frame and then the back outside, forming a bit of half X.... the other half X is on the other side. This stops front and back movement. On the back, I take a slightly back strap with one wrap around the rear wheel and to the other side. This really is to prevent the rear end from drifting and using the wheel allows the body to go up and down independent of the straps.

Agree about balance, fortunately the weight is toward the front on the M3W, but, obviously you do not want too much weight
