Excuse any typos as I'm in a hurry and posting from my iPhone...😒

I bought a Hero 8 about a month ago to take to the Sturgis Bike Rally in SD. I used some settings offered by a member here and it worked great. I did switch between Wide and Narrow to get a bit better realistic depth.

I ordered an extra battery from GoPro and then four extra with external charger from eBay. They were guaranteed to be delivered before I left, but didn't have confirmation. So I complained through eBay and they sent me another four pack and chargers to my campground in SD. As it turned out they came the day before I left and the ones to the campground also came the next w. So four free batteries and two free chargers. Now I have 10 batteries...👍

I bought the Media Mod housing from GoPro to be able to external charge the camera while on the bike... But big problem, it doesn't work...👎 Them I got the C type access door and removed my battery to charge while riding... That didn't work either. The camera will power up with either external power, but as soon as you hit record it stops and "repairs" but also stops recording. So the extra batteries came in very handy. I also bought a 256gb micro card and could record in 4k for about 4 hours and only make a cent in the chip capacity. I also copied nightly to my laptop and formatted the micro to start fresh each day.

I also had shut down issues and times it wouldn't power up. I think I may have a bad camera, but still in vacation and will check it out when I get home.

If toy can't external power, how do they expect someone to do time lapse overnight recording? There had to be a way to external power these things. Yes, I've watch tons of videos on using a power pack, but what they say works, didn't work for mine.

I'll post some videos in a couple weeks after I'm home again. Boy it's nice being retired! Don't have to hurry back to go to work...👍
