Hello from South Oxfordshire
I purchased my Aero this time last year and only recently stumbled on the Talk Morgan site when searching for Morgan articles relating to cockpit heat and the air conditioning following an eventful trip to the Cotswolds. During the heat wave of a few weeks ago my wife and I had a run out to meet some friends for lunch. It was a perfect start to the day with bright sunshine and a light wind. We pulled into the pub carpark and enjoyed a fine lunch. As we prepared to leave a friend caught me dusting the dashboard. I was distracted as he commented on the Morgans modest switchgear. Five miles into our return journey my wife complained of being hot and yes the outside temperature had now risen to 33 degrees plus and I could feel beads of sweat forming and so reached for the aircon – that’ll do the trick I thought… I was enjoying the exhilarating drive but my wife wouldn’t stop complaining about the heat and was melting beside me in the passenger seat. She reached into the footwell and grabbed a bottle of water and gulped it down… I was uncomfortable and hot but I could see my wife was really suffering. The intense heat seemed to be overriding the aircon and so we pulled over at the next layby to see if we could cool the car down. As my wife stepped out of the car I leant over to remind her to watch her legs on the exhaust and to my horror out of the corner of my eye I spotted a small red light winking at me – I had accidently switched her heated seat full on when doing my dashboard dusting… She’s been back in the Morgan since, but now takes a few moments to do pre-flight checks to ensure all switchgear settings are as they should be…
I’ve seen that you often ask new members for a picture of their car, and luckily for me someone has gone a step further and made a video featuring my aero which we found on youtube at
coolest ride This guy would have no need for aircon – he’s far too cool… and what a great pair of gloves too…
