About the Aero Heater/AC system, responding to a couple of posts above.
I've owned our Aero S4 Chassis Plus 8 since late 2014 and over the years have considered the strengths and weaknesses of the HAV system and tried to optimise the system within the constraints of the design of the vehicle.
There are two sources of heat, the heater element in the heater box and the great big lump of an engine with two catalysts at the back of the engine, one each below the side of the heater box. The A/C cooler is inside the heater box.
On a hot day at speed enough air comes through the bonnet to take much of the heat away, allowing the A/C to work. But as soon as you slow to less than 15 to 20 mph there isn't enough air to take the heat away and loads of hot air hit the underside of the bonet and are drawn into the air box, totally overwhelming the A/C and boiling to occupants.
I have insulated the outside of the airbox and also re-engineered the foam "sealing strip" between the top of the air box and the underside of the bonnet, but the recent heat showed that this isn't enough. I think now that "stand off" rear bonnet catches are needed so that there is a gap between bonnet rear sides and the bodywork. This is common on the Trad Plus 8s, which tended to overheat.
I'm also looking at a completely new, 2 part seal between the top of the airbox and bonnet, it would overlap and use a nylon brush to make a reasonably effective seal. I also intend to close of the louvres immediately in front of the airbox.
In winter the heater, plus heated seats are effective, especially with the hood up. Hood down a blanket is needed to cover the top of one's legs as the heater isn't powerful enough.
