Strange. I have yet to replace mine after at least 6 years and probably about 50,000 km of use. What I used was probably not the brand "Neoprene" but was a similar product that I bought as a roll of self adhesive tape to lag outside exposed pipes to protect them from freezing. Typically that would be a length of pipe to a garden tap.

Having written that I went out to check and one side, while still functional, is showing signs of splitting away from the adhesive so I will probably replace them both the next time I do some work on the car. However 5 to 6 years of life for a tiny patch of synthetic rubber doesn't seem bad to me.
