Whilst fitting a new battery this morning my mind turned to jump starting.
The proscribed way is to connect a battery/pack to the starter motor. On my car the cabling around the starter leaves little room to get even small alligator clips on without the risk of sparking and grounding and consequential damage.I think I have four options but welcome advice.......
1. Bolt a short length of metal strip to the starter hanging downwards, with a rubber sheath when not in use, acting as a connector for the croc clips.
2. Connect a short length of battery cable (capable of 250amp) with an Anderson connector. But this has drawback of making the car and my battery pack “dedicated”.
3. Connect a remote battery terminal somewhere, but where to be safe.
4. Just remove the battery cover plate behind the passenger seat and directly connect; a faff and still not much room
Any ideas?
