I am curious about taking the dash off of my '67 +4 as well. It needs refinishing. I asked my mechanic and he said the same thing that one must be methodical, label things, and most importantly, disconnect the battery since some dash items are always hot. You could damage some electronics.

Chris, why don't you take the removed dash to a good wood working shop there in Oz and have them make it out of one of your gorgeous gnarly eucalypts woods? Could be awesome.
