The GPS will most likely be more accurate anyway, I use a digital dashtop readout of speed taking data from the OBD2 port and it's around 5 - 8% high

Thanks, Jon. What car/engine do you have that you've managed to get a speed readout from the OBD port? And which digital readout device do you have, please?

It seems that many of us have failed to get such speed-display devices to work via OBD.
