Richard, I enjoyed a bit of fun with a CV8 in my yoof, even had a couple of Interceptors in later years... (-: As for disc handbrakes on Jags Lotus Elans etc, it did not take much for their operation to be compromised. It seems the drum in disc handbrakes were more efficient and reliable as in the Volvo, the 911 and others... From a dull memory I owned a Citroen that had inboard front discs on which the handbrake operated, but then Citroen were ever innovative..
Interesting George because I also had a few Citroen's, a couple of 2CV's and an ID20 nicknamed the Barge. As the latter used hydraulics to operate suspension as well as assisting brakes, I wondered if the former left the parking brakes pressurised until it leaked down and rested on its haunches.
