I guess that the handbrake will never go out of adjustment as there are no cables to stretch and no pads to wear, so should give an easy MOT pass!
That is certainly not true on a Discovery 3. Ours (OK, it did have 110k miles on it by then) started failing to engage fully - the parking brake motor was hunting up and down for a lock I think. Looked the fault up online and the fix was way beyond simple spanners. Dealer adjusted it and said if I had left it any longer, it would have needed a new motor at £560 + VAT + fitting.
