I've just changed mine after they've been on the car for 11 years, they were still pretty good.
Tyre Companies recommend changing at 7 years, but if you keep them in a dark garage most of the week (Sunday drives) the sun can't get at them and deteriorate them any where near as quickly and they can last an awful lot longer.
