You had me at parking on pavements.
Why?
Round our way, cars park on pavements and cause a total obstruction for wheelchairs - and the traffic still cannot pass freely on both sides as the road is not wide enough. So, the pedestrians and wheelchair users loose out and the cars still have to pause for oncoming traffic.
In large parts of London, the councils have lined out half of the pavement so that cars can be parked legally half on the road and half off. Of course these cars don't move from Monday to Friday!!!
