I actually collected my Lotus in Wales, and drove it back to Nice, that was a great experience.
The Morgan came from Germany through a Frenchcar importer and was finally delivered to me in St Tropez, so the maiden drive was Fantastic, from St Tropez to Nice along the see.
I have been hoping to own a morgan since I was 7, I am getting married in July, and my future wife, on her side always wanted to be married in a Morgan, so it was now or never.
I found the one I was looking for V6, black wheels and brown interior, decent price, so I couldn't resist...
I am very happy, and my first impression in driving it are that it is definitely another animal compare to anything I have driven before, even compare to the Lotus S1 with no assistance...
It starts with the driving position, you can try mocving the seat, adjusting the back and the whell, you have to adjust to the car! Feet position as well is tricky, with a very high clutch, a high brake pedal and a low gaz pedal, I will loo at it to see if this can be somehow adjusted too.
For the rest, topd down, without side screens, you feel like piloting an old plane, its amazing.
I was impressed by the car, its proportions, the feeeling of the handling with the front wheels far far away, en then then super scary engine, and its sound above 3000rpm, also due to a sport exhaust mounted on th car.
People on the side of the roads are also very enthousiast, but this car makes you very humble when behind the wheel, you really feel it will ask time before you can think of driving it in a sporty manner.
I have since taken it to small mountains roads on the hills, with huge turns and unregular ground, you can feel every imprefection of the road, and feel that the chassis was probably not ingineered for 280 BHP.
But one thing is sure, you can't help smiling when you are anywhere in sight of the car: driving, washing, or working on it, and I am very happy my wife shares the same feeling, which was not really the cas with the Lotus.
I love it, and am starting to think about what I will do "finish" it.
I will share in more details, but it will start with a valance, and other minor changes.
