I was just catching up on this old post to see if there is anyone out there who has found the correct calibration number for the Caerbont electronic speedo. I am in process to swap my black dials for magnolia. I have a calibration number in the existing speedo of 004268 but I want to check that it is correct as I believe my speedo reads fast by at least 5% and would like it more accurate.
Similar to the earlier post, I understand the components of the calculation as per the Caerbont instructions and have calculated number of wheel turns per mile, I know my Diff ratio but the MT75 gearbox has an electronic sender and I have no idea how many turns per mile the sender has or how many pulses per rev. Therefore; could someone out there please check the calibration number in the speedo of a series 2 Roadster (mine is 2008). You check this by;
Switching on the ignition whilst simultaneously pressing the trip/reset button. The pointer will twitch (or travel full scale-to-zero). The lcd will read SET PPU, press the reset button for three seconds and the current setting will be shown. Switch off or leave it for a few seconds and the speedo reverts to its normal mode.
