Yesterday the Wales First Minister explained how vaccine allocation was done. The Barnet formula was the basis. This meant that Wales received a volume that matched the demography of the population resulting in a bigger allocation to match the relative higher proportion of groups 1-4. He went on to say that allocation would fall slightly as the proportion changed. Not a problem though. It is just a function of targeting the vulnerable groups. Second jabs will go ahead as expected which is built into the allocation/supply.
The UK vaccine development/roll out is a major success. Far better than the other issues that have seemed to be less than well run. Another good thing is the supply to poorer countries. It would be immoral to not help them. It is a global pandemic and needs this global solution to get on top of the virus.
