The best way to gauge the fuel tank contents is not to believe anything the fuel gauge says but to zero the mileage at fill and then start looking for some fuel again when it reaches 200 miles. There is a longer 280mm fuel tank sender unit that can be easily fitted and it does make the contents a little more believable but it's not something I would trust.
