Cheers Guys .... I'm after an uncomplicated trip to Portugal driving the Morgan so , in spite of having had many fine tours in France in the past, I'm going to use the Plymouth/Santander route .... overnight would do me fine and I don't want 'entertainment' .... just a straightforward crossing with a basic cabin .... thinking of taking a couple of weeks or so and possibly including a factory tour on the way down and some touring in N Spain/Portugal before spending the final weekend meeting racing pals at the FIA Hillclimb Masters in Braga, then home.

Looks like the larger ships will be a preference (Mrs Image isn't a lover of boats at the best of times ... and the Bay of Biscay is often not the best of times) .... I can't seem to find an overview of fares ... my itinerary is totally flexible do I was wondering if there were 'unpopular' sailings that might be cheaper (Thursday to Thursday or some such?) as timing isn't an issue.

From the comments it seems like a good way to cross the water .... and from up North it saves negotiating the crowded SE.
