That's interesting. I have no experience of buying cars online although I have used the configurator as far as getting a list price. Ideally the website should quote a price and then have a set of options for the customer response e.g. 'Quick, I need a defribulator', 'Please help me up off the floor when I stop laughing', etc.
I think specialist / low volume sales will always need the personal relationship and advice of an informed sales person. For mainstream cars that would still be my preference as well but I'm persuaded by your positive comments on the online process.
