I went in once (more than once) for stitches and the doctor just laughed and said ‘well I suppose it keeps the bugs out’ covered in oil plasters just don’t stick.

Super glue is sterile and was first used in Vietnam to seal wounds and stop infection which are specially nasty in that environment. I believe it was invented by the medical bods for that very purpose.
