Here in Luxembourg a couple of petrol stations are selling 102 octane fuel - which I have been using for a few years now in my 1.8 Silvertop Zetec,
It is literally transforming the engine as there is less vibration in the lower revs and much less of that raucousness in higher rpms.
The car sounds happier and so am I. It has even a little more punch (Yes yes) I wouldn't use any other fuel as the result is evident. I tried the same fuel on a 2.0 Golf V GTI 4pot and an 1996 Audi 80 2.6 6cylinders but then I did not notice any difference at all. I think these engines are either too smart and adaptive (Golf) too smoothly running (Audi) and both certainly better insulated from the driver than the Morgan's.
If you run an older 4pot engine, do not be greedy, do yourself the pleasure and give it the Château Petrus of fuels.
Cheers
Mich
