A friend who worked in a pub near us said they cost a fortune and most people said they did little to nothing. Also the eco elements are a question given that all the resource used has little direct benefit.
He had a good line in branded emergency blankets that he gave out to people who were cold. Free. It worked quite well. Someone said they were cold, he handed them a free emergency blanket which had the pub name on it. It was just printed with the pub name. People kept them and used them. He then approached one of the beers for co-branding and they saw the effect and thought it was great. They cost peanuts. £0.60
