As Alistair mentioned earlier, the sump guard from Wolf Performance is a must. It has saved my engine a dozen times at least - before fitting it I had a damaged sump plug just from driving over wet mud - car had to be trailered to garage etc. As Alistair notes, the engine would be ruined with a loss of oil.
The sump guard is more of a rubbing plate - when you know something is going to be a bit tight, you go gently, you can make contact and your sump/engine is protected.
Definitely do this. My +8 is lower than some exotics that I've owned.
