I suspect that there may be a few on this forum who have collections of various "things" as such, though perhaps a tad limited by available funds over the years or the space in which to store our treasures than the pleasant chap in the vid...?
I do wonder how many of those vehicles the current custodian might ever have the pleasure of seeing returned to running condition, and therein would seem to lie a degree of reality given any reasonable expectations of his time available to be engaged in such processes, even if only funding and managing them at some stage..?
As a motorcycle/car enthusiast who was at one time very hands-on, I can associate myself with the idea of acquiring old machinery which has little value in terms of the amount of work required relative to the cost of restoration in parts alone far outweighing it`s market value at the time of acquisition, and if you have room to keep it somewhere, you take it on, the idea being to save it from being scrapped or that you value it in other than a monetary sense with no real action plan to restore it/them...?
With only one slowly decaying machine "collected" I guess it seems more likely we might convince ourselves that there is at least a chance of getting round to doing the deed, but the more machines we gather, it seems perhaps logical that there is less likelihood of restoration. I suspect in reality some of us will have had discussions with ourselves in the passage of time, and either passed on some of our treasures to other like-minded souls or worst of all scrapped them..?
