I saw the Burton notation, was hoping for some notes on ignition timing but I guess the basic rules still apply.
To test the dizzy theory do i just move each dizzy socket clockwise?

Yeah, I'd check that the timing marks are accurate by checking Pot 1 TDC again the relevant timing mark. I'd then be tempted to loosen off the dizzy and set it 'centrally' so that you have adjustment movement clockwise and anticlockwise. Then the rotor arm should be pointing in the direction of where the Pot 1 plug lead.should be fitted.
