Not specifically marine but the Hella/DIN style sockets are superior in both design and current handling, having a captive connection to centre positive pole. Surface as well as panel mount sockets as below are available.

Cigar lighter sockets were never designed as an external power source although sadly adopted by the electrical accessory world doh
