My 2014 4/4 came with factory fitted bonnet stays. These are fixed to the bonnet near the hinge on each side with 3 terry clips. Today, on our way back from a DonMog picnic noggin one of the stays came adrift. The loud rattling noise alerted us and we were in a speed calmed 30 limit so were not going quickly. The o/s bonnet stay was dragging on the road. Fortunately it missed all moving parts and hoses. The bonnet stays are now on my work bench pending development of a robust fixing method.
So, if your car has MMC factory fit bonnet stays (no idea how long these were fitted for) it might be an idea to remove them before any damage is done. You may not be as lucky as I was.
This was always on my mind worrying about them popping off the clips, I now have the Wolf stays they are much safer. I still have my spare factory stays if yours are damaged and beyond repair.
