It does look like the factory is managing the market's expectations - which is no bad thing.
These cars are rare, never to be repeated, petrolhead heaven.
Williams had an early S5 which they priced at original list +, with SSL suspension, and the Supersports they've had for a while has moved: who knows what theyactually sold for, but maybe rarity + the factory's ballsy pricing will shift the market up, dramatically...?
