Letters stuck to the bodywork like that might look nice but do not comply with agreed standards. UNECE Convention on Road Traffic 1968, states: The letters need to be black, at least 8cm high with 1cm thick strokes on a white oval background, 17.5cm x 11.5cm.
Really ? I thought the little sliver on the edge of a number plate was adequate until recently. Which always seemed rather pointless as it can hardly be seen when the car is moving.
Anyway I won't be changing them any time soon. The original owner was a keen Francophile so maybe they'll cut me some slack

Legal or not they've been accepted since the car was built and it's made numerous European trips even before we joined the EU
