It sounds as if MMC have been using the white variant for a while, as detailed in the 2015 book "Making a Morgan". So I'll be dealing with 13 years of residual oozing if I do decide to "improve" mine. Maybe a bit of 'mastic' solvent would help, and I'll go easy in case that starts to dissolve paint.
