Nick,
I've ordered a £55.00 Class D amplifier, 50 watts a channel. It is for my study, fed from a cheap DAB tuner and driving a pair of Denon speakers. BUT I shall try it with the QUAD ELS, just for fun. By all accounts it should sound dry and clinical, not musical. More later.
Actually if it sounds fantastic then clearly the valve amps will be shown to be the emperor's new clothes. My HiFi Dealer tells me it will sound naff, but then he would, wouldn't he?
