My understanding (and I stand to be corrected) insurers consider "agreed value" as "maximum value". So agreed value may be useful if the car value depreciates over time. HOWEVER, if the car price goes up and the market value is now above the agreed value, the insurer will only pay the lower agreed value.

For this reason Idid't go for agreed value for my 3 wheeler.
