Thanks for the reply. On my car, the fuel flap locks over a recessed petrol cap, which was an arrangement used for just a few years (as I understand it). I'm told that to use a cap like the Newton one requires a plate adding to the back panel to allow the cap to sit on top of the panel, rather than in the (cosmetically very ugly) recess. Using a plate then needs some juggling with the assorted breather pipes etc underneath.

If I could find a way of inserting a non-locking quarter turn latch onto the current filler flap I'd do so, as (like you) I'm not bothered about security, either.
