I entirely agree but then the original Elan is already there. My Elise is the only car I have ever driven on a test drive, then gone back into the garage and bought it then and there. The steering is simply sublime and with the Toyota engine, the reliability is excellent.

When I got too old and stiff to easily get in and out, I went looking for another mid engined car to replace it. The nearest I could get to the feel of the Lotus was a Ferrari and as far as I am concerned, comparing it to a Lotus is flattering the Ferrari.

P.S. I see I have said much of this earlier in the thread! blush But for me the word Lotus immediately catches my eye.
