Looks like the same 'breathable' material as the old Jon Taylor/Morganhoods one (which I note he's now stopped selling). I had one previously but it lost all its waterproofing after a couple of years and the fabric wore through in a couple of places. The Cover Systems one is more of a plasticised 'waterproof jacket' type of material - after 12 months it's still as new.

Don't know about John Taylor version but mines as good as new after 3 plus years including waterproofing. Doubt any of the four layers are going to wear through anytime soon, and it hasn't damaged the paint despite using it in very windy locations for extended periods, as the material is very soft and not sticky plastic. I most certainly wouldn't have recommended it if it was anything like the clearly different one you had experience with.

The fit is roomy but shaped and I have the optional security locking cable to supplement the two included under car straps. The valise it comes with is useful for storage and transportation.
