If you have a mohair hood, do not throw away the old fastener beefore you fit a new one. I went to my local supplier the old one, bought a new and left the old one as scrap. When I got home and tried to fit the new Tenax after a fortnight, I discovered that the threads on the male part screwed on from the inside was a couple of mm shorter. I just could not make them to enter the female part, the mohair fabric being rather thick. So I went into a deep depression, foreseeing an eternal hunt for another Tenax with longer threads, and perhaps not finding it....
A telephone to the supplier revealed that for some reason he had not thrown away the broken Tenax that I left, so I went over and picked it up. So now the Tenax is back on, new male part combined with the old female part. But it was a near miss. Small part, possibly big problem.
P.S. With an Everflex, I do not think this would be an issue.
