Sorry you couldn't make it to Metheringham this time Graham. There have been a few changes since your last visit. The Dakota is now housed in it's purpose built hangar and we have been able to progress some of those jobs we had been putting off when it was outside. It's amazing what can be achieved by some willing volunteers when you have a roof, electric and a workbench. We have recently acquired a P&W R1830 Dakota engine for display from our friends at the BBMF, it needs some TLC but will make a great addition to the display. Next big job is a complete repaint, the original paint has faded badly in the years of outdoors living. It's a job for this years closed season, RAF on one side and USAAF on the other to represent the USAAF Dakotas that operated into RAF Metheringham in WW2 and the aircrafts former actual military identity.
