If anyone is on a visit to East Kirkby, the BBMF, or just Lincolnshire, call into the Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre, only a few miles away and along with other displays we have a 1944 C-47A Dakota that we allow full access to. You can sit in the pilots seat or on the para seats in the back, something you won't get at East Kirkby or the BBMF. We are open on Wednesdays and weekends from April to October and staffed entirely by volunteers. Parts of the original WW2 Lancaster bomber base are still visible and you can drive down one of the three runways as it is now a public road...a wide one!
