Useful thread. I regularly transport our dog in the UK sat unfastened on the passenger seat of either of the two seaters. I guess I will have to mend my ways.

Hello Howard, It seems the uk Highway Code discourages dogs on the front seat as it could be a distraction if the dog is moving around. In my case our dog would be secured as yours but also be on the passengers lap so preventing uncontrolled movement. A further valid aspect is the risk to the dog with airbags if they can’t be disabled. Given all that, it’s my opinion having pooch on the front seat is still open to the individuals interpretation and responsibility to ensure safety for all concerned and having that freedom of choice.
